Politics & Law

In these posts, I’ll wear my lawyer’s hat to report and analyze major news and politics of international interest. Interestingly, as common as lawyers are in American news reporting and political analyzing, they are less common in Sweden.

Some of the posts will be in Swedish, why? Since Trump was elected, I’ve had many questions about recent developments from back home. Questions like, what’s really going on and what do people really think?

Moreover disinformation, often misused by a certain high official (as fake news), is a reality, as evidenced by its use by Russia and ISIS. As is poor news reporting by journalists. I often notice how the US is wrongly portrayed in Sweden and misused for propaganda purposes. Similarly, Sweden is often strangely portrayed in the US and subjected to disinformation and propaganda

Journalists are simply not knowledgable enough about the topics they cover. As for propaganda and disinformation, more sinister powers are at work to mislead the public. I hope to diminish these risks, for a more accurate image and reporting both ways.

Riksrättsdebatten i kongressen

Impeachment – Simply Explained

The Congress, the legislature of the USA, has power derived from the Constitution to remove a president from office through impeachment. Although the process bares similarities to a criminal trial, it’s not. It’s a political one.
